Newly inaugurated President Donald Trump wasted little time moving on one of his signature campaign issues by issuing an Executive Order on the Affordable Care Act.

One thing is clear, action will be undertaken to change the Affordable Care Act.

What that will look like – at the end of the discussion – is anyone’s guess.

It seems only certainty is ironically uncertainty. By the looks of the massive demonstrations that took place in major cities on Saturday, any changes will not come easily or without resistance.

Political and legislative history notwithstanding, these deliberations are not only going to affect the health of our fellow citizens but also the health of our republic.
